Which source deductions do you have to remit to the CRA?

After paying remuneration, such as wages and salary, or giving a taxable benefit to certain recipients, you have to take source of deductions from that amount. It is mandatory to remit these deductions to the CRA. According to Canada Revenue Agency, the source deductions that you must remit may be any combination of:

  • Canada Pension Plan (CPP) Contributions
  • Employment Insurance (EI) Premiums
  • Federal, Provincial, or Territorial Income tax
