From July 5th onwards, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, announced that a total of 11 million low- and modest-income Canadians and families will commence receiving their new one-time Grocery Rebate.
This specific measure aimed at addressing inflation concerns is designed to provide additional financial assistance to the most deserving Canadian individuals and families. Eligible couples with two children can expect to receive an average of $467, while single Canadians without children may receive an average of $234. Additionally, seniors will receive an average of $225 in extra support. This initiative, which focuses on those who require it the most, ensures crucial relief measures while upholding Canada’s AAA credit rating and strong commitment to fiscal responsibility.
Eligible Canadians will receive their Grocery Rebate payments through direct deposit or cheque, facilitated by the Canada Revenue Agency.
