During July, families with young children have the chance to apply for the dental benefit for either the first or second time. Eligible families can receive a maximum of $650 per child for dental care services conducted between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024.
To determine if your children qualify for this benefit, please consider the following criteria:
- Your child(ren) must be below 12 years old as of July 1, 2023.
- Your adjusted family net income should be less than $90,000.
- You do not possess private dental insurance.
- The dental expenses of your children are not fully covered by any other dental program provided by any level of government.
In situations where a child’s dental costs exceed $650 within one of the benefit periods, an additional payment might be available. However, you would only be eligible for the extra payment if you did not apply for both benefit periods for that particular child.
